OBITUARY: ANNA ELIZABETH [GEARY] DRINKWATER

February 9, 1956

Anna Elizabeth (Geary) Drinkwater died 82 years old on Thu. ___ P.M. at her son, Ross Drinkwater's home at 620 Highland Ave., Warrensburg, Mo., Johnson Co., after a brief illness. 
She had had reasonably good health until this week.
Funeral at 2pm at Cumberland Presbyterian Church by Rev. W.D. Waman, burial at Wampler Cemetery, north of Knobnoster. 
Pallbearers were Charles, Jack and Arthur Drinkwater of Plaquemine, La., Gene Drinkwater of K.C., Harold Bartles of Knobnoster, and Sam Hanna of Clinton, Mo., all grandsons.

She was married to Oliver Drinkwater (cousins) of Sedalia, Mo., Apr. 9, 1891, and spent all their married life 3 miles north of Montserrat, Mo.
She was born 12-19-1871 at Lebanon, daughter of Luke and Mary (Bales) Geary.  Mr. Drinkwater died 1926 and she lived with the 

  • 3 surviving sons: Ross, Earl and John Drinkwater, and 
  • five daughters: Mrs. Mayme Gowin, Mrs. Fannie Bartles of Knobnoster, Mrs. Eva Austin & Mrs. Myrtle Hanna of Clinton, Mrs. Monema Monahan of K.C., 
  • 25 grandchildren, 
  • 40 great grandchildren, 
  • 1 sister: Mrs. C.E. Arnold of Holden, 
  • 2 brothers: Harve of Holden and Quincy of Richmond, Va.
